California

Chilled vibes and golden sunny shores!

I travelled down the full west coast of California in a soft top Mustang living the dream and loving life. It was a wonderfully relaxed trip filled with endless sunsets and interesting, loud characters!

San Francisco offered a great coffee culture, with a lot of inspiration from Japanese coffee roasters and some fabulous little independent interiors shops - I of course picked up too many treats for my backpack to take home! We travelled down the coast further and got to Santa Barbara where we stayed a few more days as we fell in love with the place. I found an interesting little art gallery and ate food at a delicious restaurant called Milk - too good! We continued on through Malibu and Santa Monica watching the surfers catch the waves and ended up in L.A for a couple of days. It wasn’t really my cup of tea here but it was still great to see and it almost feels like you are on one huge movie set. A place worth visiting is the Griffith Observatory though where you can get incredible views across L.A! We continued on to San Diego and caught even more beautiful sunsets.

We did travel inland in California and headed to Napa Valley, now this place is breath taking. It is filled with endless rolling hills and fields of vineyards and there are so many different places to try wine tasting, I could of spent a lot longer than 2 days here! There is a little town in Napa called St Helena where there are some gorgeous shops and a quirky “fast food” restaurant that is done in the traditional America way where you order and eat outside. The food was so good.

We also continued onto Sequoia National Park to see the dazzling Sequoia Trees that reach for the stars, you really do feel like an ant whilst walking among these giants. The park is quite a climb in a car and at the beginning was sunny but the further we climbed it turned to snow and to see the trees in this type of setting was magical.

We only scratched the surface of California and it is so vast that there are tons of different things to do. Cant wait to explore more.
